Mike Mays joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in October 2025, following a 23-year career in the United States U.S. Army, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Mike understands the challenges and opportunities associated with life in the military and is committed to helping service members and their families get their financial lives squared away. Mike has a bachelor's degree in International Relations from Boise State University, a master's degree in International Relations from the University of Oklahoma, and a master's degree in Operational Art from the U.S. Army School of Advanced Military Science. He holds Series 6, Series 63, and Series 65 securities licenses plus life and health insurance licenses in Nevada, California, Indiana, and Texas. Mike serves as a personal financial coach to clients, continually reinforcing positive financial behaviors. He is committed to coaching clients to pursue their financial goals and lifetime dreams by bringing sound financial knowledge and trustworthy advice to a lasting relationship with each individual and family he serves. Active in his community, Mike is a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Association of the US Army (AUSA). He's also active with the Veteran Social Club (VSC) in Reno. In his free time, Mike enjoys, reading, running and spending time with family.
